| Orf Brewing presents Original American Ales. They're hybrids, mixtures, the mutt of the beer family. But what's more loveable than a good mutt? Salutation Ale - Greetings from Orf! This flagship brew is a golden American ale. In other words, it's a jumbled mix of different backgrounds that's ready to take over the world. It's brewed like a Czech Pilsner (sort of), but with American strains of hops (such as those found in pale ales), and it's finished off like a German Kolsch (but not exactly). Say hello to a Salutation, and you'll probably end up smiling. Honey Roast - The use of roasted barley usually leads to a black ale or lager. Honey is typically added to sweeter brown ales. But what if you mix them together, and put them with a coppery red ale with hints of caramel flavor? You get a delicious smoky brew that has a complex flavor yet an astounding drinkability. Rockhopper - Hoppy Hoppy Joy Joy! There's hops, hops, and more hops in this brew, but with a sweet malty balance that prevents the bitterness from taking over your tonsils and making them shrivel. That's because it's a cross between and IPA and an Irish Red. The floral bouquet of this brew only adds to the delight. Tall Blonde Ale - Who doesn't like a Tall Blonde? This smooth, light-bodied ale goes down like butter, but without the creamy fat. It's ideal for the hotter summer days, or for those whose tastes in beer tend toward the milder side. Rhum Porter - Rhum (also spelled "rum") is fermented from sugar cane. Sugar is usally added to cocoa to make the chocolate less bitter. Why not try the combo in beer form? Porters are traditionally full-bodied, chocolately beers. A few wood chips, soaked in 15-year old Haitian rhum and then added into the fermenter, impart a pleasing pungent kick to this brew. Seasonals - These change with the months of the year. Whether it's autumn (Orftoberfest!) or winter (Solstice Spiced Ale) or springtime (Orfo de Mayo), or some other season (baseball season, the new TV season, bee season...) you can bet that the creative minds at Orf Brewing will concoct something for the occasion.
